I changed the oil for the first time today along my 2542, What a pain in the rear. I decide I would vary the oil drain fitting.
For any one interested Here is what I did. I removed the mower deck of cards for ease of working underneath, I then removed the 4 causative mount bolts so I could rear the motor somewhat, unscrewed the oil drainpipe fitting and installed a 2" long by 3/8 " galvanized piping, I then installed a 3/8" elbow that I had ground the shoulder off of it and faced the ell towards the rear of the tractor, I and so installed a 2 1/2" past 3/8" nipple and another 3/8" ell facing pile with a 2" by 3/8" nipple with a cap along it.
This is not anything new that I have done, I am sure someone had done this earlier but I could not find anything along early posts that gave me the lengths of the piping used. For all of the money I spent when purchasing this tractor you would think that Cub Cadet would have done something similar to make it easier for the home mechanic to deepen the oil. All of the pipe and fittings came to about $11. but it took the better part of 4 hours to complete the subcontract.
I don't know about your Cub, but more or less of these type units are supposed to come with a run out tube extension. Simple vinyl hose adapter.

Yup - the very sorriest, cheapest oil drain setup ever imagined. And it really gets fun when you discover that having to push in/wrench the plastic drain tube now rotates the pushed on drooping vinyl hose properly verboten of your catch pan (or knocks it over) with VERY warm oil going concluded the berth... hardly a barrel of laffs... sheesh.

Good mod timkins.
I settled for a longstanding plug. If you drive the Atomic number 87 tire over a block of Mrs. Henry Wood the oil will atomic number 4 easily directed to an oil colour pan. That elastic OEM miscarriage was always leaking anyway.
Here's your future mod if you suffer with the press fit embrocate dip stick. Say good by to that
and hello to this long-standing screw type.
My MF 2823 has a Kohler Command v-twin and it came with a Drainzit oil enfeeble hose installed when I purchased IT. I really like information technology as it allows me to direct the oil into my drain pan without getting information technology all over the frame, and information technology has a simple drain nag/rigidly in the end to drain the oil. Nothing complex, and nothing to break. It might be worth checking into for those WHO haven't yet devised their own answer to CC's oil drain.
